The work is based on a stereoscopic photograph taken by meteorologist Masanao Abe at 11:32 a.m. on December 12, 1932, capturing clouds over Mt. Fuji. INOMATA converted the archival photograph into 3D data, and 3D-printed the cloud in milk within a glass of water. She then photographed it stereoscopically following Abe’s method. Viewed through a stereoscope, the two photographs merge to form a three-dimensional image. Through this doubled stereoscopic photograhy by nearly a century later, the viewer's gaze superimposes with those of Abe and INOMATA.
